Lian is a Psychologist with experience working in private practice and government settings. She also works as a lecturer and researcher within the Discipline of Behavioural Health at Flinders University. Having completed a Doctorate degree and Master of Psychology (Clinical) at the University of Adelaide Lian has previously worked in the areas of child protection, forensic psychology and private practice.
With a compassionate and collaborative approach to working with clients, Lian aims to create a safe and supportive environment that welcomes sharing experiences and promotes recovery through learning new skills. She has a particular interest in working with people to understand the origins and development of their concerns and in teaching strategies to overcome challenges and enhance quality of life.
Having worked with adults experiencing risk of suicide, trauma, depression, personality disorders, and anxiety disorders, such as social anxiety, phobias, and health anxiety, Lian has also worked extensively with families and primary school aged children by taking child-centred approach to improving children’s wellbeing. Lian has experience in evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and other mindfulness-based techniques. Lian continues to study and practice a range of therapeutic skills to support the individual needs of her clients.
